🌐 Trump Says Iran War Is Almost Over as Ceasefire Deadline Nears

The Trump administration is declaring the U.S.-Iran war is nearing its end, even as nuclear negotiations remain stalled. The U.S. is demanding Iran suspend uranium enrichment for 20 years; Iran has countered with 5, and the ceasefire expires April 22.
A U.S. naval blockade across the Gulf of Oman is already in place, with more than 10,000 personnel and 12 warships. Iran has threatened to cut off oil flows through the Persian Gulf and Red Sea if it continues.
The cost: The world’s top 100 oil companies are netting $30 million per hour in windfall profits, with $234 billion in additional earnings projected by year-end. The combination of military escalation and energy market volatility has amplified concerns about how prolonged conflict is reshaping global economic incentives.

👟 Allbirds Drops Wool Shoes, Rebrands as “NewBird AI”

Allbirds, once valued at over $4 billion, is rebranding as “NewBird AI” and pivoting to GPU-as-a-Service and AI-native cloud infrastructure. The company sold its brand for $39 million last month and closed all U.S. stores in February 2026.
The company has disclosed zero AI infrastructure, technical staff, or computing experience. Revenue dropped from $298 million in 2022 to $152 million in 2025, and the stock had fallen more than 99% from its IPO peak before the announcement sent shares up 330%, from $2.49 to $10.75.
The playbook: The change is reminiscent of the 2017 blockchain craze, when Long Island Iced Tea renamed itself “Long Blockchain Corp” and watched its stock triple overnight on nothing but a name change. The shift adds to broader questions about how much weight investors are placing on AI positioning versus demonstrated capability.

:📈 Today’s Poll: Pivot Play
Allbirds just rebranded as an AI company with no experience, staff, or infrastructure, and its stock jumped 330% overnight. Supporters call it a necessary pivot, while critics say it shows branding outpacing capability and eroding trust in sustainability-focused companies.

🏛️ High School TPUSA Clubs Gain Major Support

Eight Republican governors (from Nebraska, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Montana, Florida, Tennessee, and Indiana) have formally partnered with Turning Point USA to support the group’s “Club America” chapters in public high schools. TPUSA, founded in 2012, already operates 3,400 chapters across U.S. schools.
Supporters of the initiative, including Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders, said the program is aimed at encouraging civic engagement and introducing students to values they view as important. The Arkansas ACLU raised concerns about potential viewpoint-based treatment, citing First Amendment implications.
The tension: Nebraska’s largest teachers’ union said the reaction would likely be very different if a Democratic governor partnered with a progressive youth organization, arguing it would draw immediate public criticism from opponents. TPUSA maintains that state officials are not creating or running chapters, but simply supporting students’ ability to form clubs under existing school policies.

🧪 Science: Water can exist in three states at once under the right temperature and pressure. It’s called the “triple point,” and it’s basically matter multitasking.
🐝 Animals: Honeybees can recognize human faces. They’re tiny, but surprisingly good at remembering who bothered them.
🌍 Geography: Greenland is shrinking and rising at the same time, slowly reshaping as melting ice removes pressure from the land beneath. The world’s largest island literally redraws itself over time.
🤯 WTF: There is a type of jellyfish that can revert back to its juvenile form after aging, essentially resetting its life cycle like biological rewind
TODAY’S QUIZ ANSWER:
The first acid trip
On April 16, 1943, Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann accidentally absorbed a small amount of LSD through his fingertips while working at Sandoz Laboratories in Basel, Switzerland. He later intentionally took a larger dose and documented the effects during a now-famous bicycle ride home, marking the first recorded acid trip. The day is now commemorated by some as "Bicycle Day."
