WORLD NEWS
⚠️ Trump Sets 8 PM Iran Strike Deadline

President Trump set an 8 PM Eastern Tuesday deadline for a deal with Iran, after warning of potential strikes on infrastructure. Experts have noted that attacks on civilian systems may raise questions under international law.
Civilian power systems and desalination plants are specifically protected under the Geneva Conventions. Trump has adjusted the deadline multiple times, reducing the window for negotiation as regional tensions persist.
The latest: Iran shot down a U.S. fighter jet, though both crew members were recovered safely. Pakistan proposed an immediate ceasefire with 15–20 day talks, while Iran offered terms tied to Strait access and sanctions relief. The U.S. administration said these proposals were insufficient to reach an agreement.

🔍 Questions Mount Around Undisclosed Foreign Aid

Allegations about secret foreign aid arrangements tied to the U.S. State Department are raising scrutiny over how these agreements are structured and monitored. Observers note that the lack of transparency makes it difficult to track where taxpayer money is spent.
Foreign aid serves both humanitarian and strategic purposes. Supporters say some confidentiality is necessary for diplomacy and national security, while critics argue secrecy can reduce accountability.
The details: Reports indicate dozens of opaque or off-the-books aid agreements. Some arrangements may serve strategic or diplomatic goals in addition to providing aid, and the agreements include broader negotiation terms such as mineral rights or deportation deals. Limited public information raises questions about the real-world impact on populations relying on the aid.

:📈 Today’s Poll: Foreign Focus
The U.S. has historically tied foreign aid to strategic interests, but most agreements have been publicly disclosed and debated. The Trump administration has renegotiated 28 global health aid deals while keeping the terms private, prompting a lawsuit and raising questions about oversight. Critics say aid is being used as leverage for unrelated concessions, while officials argue it reduces long-term dependency.
What should the U.S. prioritize when structuring foreign aid agreements?
EDUCATION
📘Christian-Backed CLT Gains Public College Ground

The Classic Learning Test (CLT), created by Jeremy Tate and influenced by Christian and Western canon authors, is now being accepted or required by public universities in Republican-led states including Indiana, Arkansas, and Ohio. Over 183,000 students took the exam last year, and major public universities such as UNC Chapel Hill now accept it.
The test draws from more than 160 authors, including over two dozen Christian theologians and religious thinkers. It is supported by the classical education movement, largely Christian and homeschool communities.
The figures: Over 350 universities accept CLT scores, mostly private, with some public universities joining. One unpublished study looked at 235 students, but no peer-reviewed research exists on its effectiveness in predicting college success.
Fun Facts
🍯 Foods: A single teaspoon of honey represents the lifetime work of about 12 honeybees. Breakfast suddenly feels more dramatic.
🏊♂️ Sports: Olympic swimmers sometimes shave their entire bodies before races to reduce drag in the water. Speed comes with a smooth strategy.
🏺 Archaeology: The city of Machu Picchu was never found by Spanish conquistadors, which helped preserve it. Hidden city, lucky escape.
🤨 WTF: The towns of Boring, Oregon and Dull, Scotland are officially sister cities, embracing their “excitingly bland” names.
