🏛️ Trump Administration Offers $300M in Grants to Reshape City Policing
The Trump administration is preparing $300 million in grants for cities willing to roll back what it calls progressive policing, according to reporting. Qualifying cities would support federal immigration enforcement, toughen anti-homelessness rules, and treat mental illness among homeless residents.
Some local leaders call the money an enticement to adopt the administration’s priorities. The Justice Department has tagged DC and Memphis as “model cities” and will name up to four finalists next month.

💻 Meta Makes Its Top AI Model Open-Weight as Zuckerberg Bets on Access
Meta is making its most advanced AI model open-weight, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled Muse Glimmer, a model small enough to run on a personal computer as an always-on assistant. Open-weight lets users download and adjust a model’s inner settings themselves.
The move sharpens an industry split. Meta, Microsoft, and NVIDIA argue widely available AI is safer and helps the US keep pace with cheaper Chinese open-weight models. Anthropic and OpenAI favor tightly controlled, supervised systems.

📱 Asmongold Banned From Twitch, Doubles Down on Comments
Streamer Asmongold drew widespread backlash and a Twitch suspension after saying migrants who illegally cross borders, including children, should be shot. The remarks came as he discussed a surge of migrants from Morocco entering a Spanish territory in North Africa.
He argued lethal force is justified to defend borders and claimed it would deter adults from using children as shields. Critics, including streamer Hasan Piker, called the comments a defense of killing women and children.
