TECHNOLOGY
💻 Google and Blackstone Back $5B AI Cloud Venture to Challenge Nvidia

Google and Blackstone have announced a new AI cloud company built on Google’s proprietary silicon rather than Nvidia hardware. Blackstone is contributing $5 billion in equity and will hold a majority stake.
Most of the AI industry relies on Nvidia chips through providers like CoreWeave. The new venture aims to break that dependency, targeting 500 megawatts of computing capacity by 2027.
The resistance: More than $64 billion in data center projects have been blocked or delayed by bipartisan local opposition over utility costs, water use, and noise. 71% of Americans oppose nearby data centers, and U.S. power supply is projected to fall short of demand by 2028.

🏛️ Ex-MAGA Influencer Claims Elon Musk Used Satellites to Influence 2024 Election

Former Turning Point USA contributor Ashley St. Clair, now self-described ex-MAGA, posted a video claiming Elon Musk told her he deployed his satellite network to influence the 2024 presidential election, framing it as a move no opponent would see coming.
She stops short of directly accusing Musk of rigging the vote, but says she is concerned about the lack of oversight over technology’s role in elections.
The skepticism: No hard evidence has been presented publicly, and technical experts have questioned how satellites could interfere with vote counts. Critics note St. Clair’s pivot away from MAGA has generated significant media attention and new audiences.

HEALTH
🏥 TrumpRx Adds 600+ Generic Medications to its Website

The Trump administration announced TrumpRx.gov is adding more than 600 generic medications to its catalog, nearly seven times the medications available at its February launch. The site compares drug prices and will add tools to locate affordable pharmacies and mail-order options.
Health economists say most Americans with insurance or access to cash-pay services like Cost Plus Drugs can find lower prices elsewhere. The site may be most useful for uninsured patients or those seeking medications not covered by their plans.
The context: Just 16% of Americans were satisfied with their health care costs at the end of last year. Experts call the expansion an optics move that largely overlaps with cheaper alternatives most people already have access to, while others see it as a useful price comparison resource for those navigating the system.
Fun Facts
🎵 Pop Culture: A stock sound effect of a man screaming called the “Wilhelm Scream” has appeared in over 400 films and TV shows since 1951, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and The Lord of the Rings. It has its own fan base.
🐒 Animals: Capuchin monkeys sometimes wash their hands and feet in urine. Scientists believe the behavior may help repel insects or cool their bodies. Somewhere in the rainforest, evolution accidentally invented extremely questionable skincare.
🍌 Food: Bananas glow blue under UV light as they ripen due to natural compounds in the peel. Somewhere, in an alternate universe, monkeys are judging fruit like it’s a nightclub dress code violation.
🤯 WTF: In space, astronauts can’t burp normally because liquids and gas don’t separate the same way without gravity. So instead of a polite burp, you risk a floating stomach science experiment nobody asked for.
TODAY’S QUIZ ANSWER:
Amelia Earhart
On May 20, 1932, Amelia Earhart departed Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, aiming to become the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. After battling ice, mechanical trouble, and strong headwinds, she landed not in Paris but in a pasture near Derry, Northern Ireland, nearly 15 hours after takeoff. The unexpected landing still made history.
