🪧 8 Million Protest Nationwide as Trump Skips CPAC
An estimated 8 million people joined more than 3,300 “No Kings” events across all 50 states on March 28. The same weekend, President Trump skipped CPAC in Dallas for the first time since 2016, with a Reuters/Ipsos poll showing his approval at 36%, a second-term low.
Demonstrators cited concerns including immigration enforcement, the war in Iran, and broader political grievances. CPAC speakers highlighted divisions among conservatives over foreign policy and party priorities, while emphasizing broader movement themes.
The shift: Turnout for the protests included both major cities and smaller communities. Previous nationwide protests in 2025 drew 5 million and 7 million participants. Organizers called this one of the largest single-day demonstrations in U.S. history, as foreign policy tensions shaped conversations at CPAC.

⛪ Hegseth Holds Evangelical Prayers at Pentagon
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has instituted monthly evangelical worship services at the Pentagon. The most recent session included a prayer calling for “overwhelming violence” against enemies. He has also reduced chaplain religious affiliation codes from 200 to 31, with all services led by pastors from that tradition.
The sessions have drawn criticism from Pentagon staff and Pope Leo XIV, who said during Palm Sunday mass that God does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war. Some argue this departs from longstanding military norms around religious neutrality.
The overhaul: Hegseth replaced chaplain rank insignia with religious symbols and eliminated the Army’s Spiritual Fitness guide. Critics say non-evangelical chaplains are being sidelined, while the DoD maintains the services are voluntary and is being challenged in court.

:📈 Today’s Poll: Faith & Force
The Department of Defense is facing backlash after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth introduced monthly evangelical-led worship services at the Pentagon and overhauled the chaplain system. Critics, including Pentagon officials and Pope Leo XIV, say the changes blur the line between religion and military power. Supporters call participation voluntary, while opponents argue the policies could undermine religious freedom. The issue is escalating into a legal and constitutional dispute.
How should Congress respond to the Pentagon’s evangelical worship policies?

🛡️ Trump Threats Escalate as Iran Rejects U.S. Proposal
President Trump says the U.S. is in “serious discussions” with Iran, but Tehran rejected the proposal as “excessive, unrealistic, and unreasonable.” Trump’s backup: strikes on Kharg Island, power plants, oil wells, and desalination plants. The Pentagon is preparing ground operations.
The war is in its second month with more than 3,000 dead in Iran, 1,200 in Lebanon, and 13 American service members killed. An Iranian strike injured roughly 24 Americans at a Saudi air base. Oil prices are above $100 per barrel, and gas has risen 33%, underscoring broader economic and geopolitical stakes.
The escalation: Strikes have hit civilian infrastructure as Israel expands in Lebanon and the Houthis join the fighting. Thousands of U.S. troops are deployed with 10,000 more under consideration. Iran’s leadership remains largely intact.
