One Easter Post Broke the Entire MAGA Coalition
The big picture: Tucker Carlson implied Trump may be the anti-Christ. Candace Owens called him “a genocidal lunatic” and invoked the 25th Amendment. Ben Shapiro accused Tucker of hating America. Laura Loomer accused Tucker of trying to get Trump killed. Trump called Tucker “a low IQ person.” Megyn Kelly said she’s “given up on 2026.” All of this over Trump’s Easter post threatening to bomb Iranian bridges and power plants, telling Iran’s leaders to “open the fuckin’ strait you crazy bastards,” and signing off with “praise be to Allah.”
Why it matters: This isn’t the left criticizing Trump. This is the MAGA media ecosystem tearing itself apart. The people who built the infrastructure that got Trump elected can’t agree on whether he’s a tactical genius, a war criminal, the anti-Christ, or a genocidal lunatic. The midterms are eight months away and the coalition delivering the message can’t agree on what the message is.
Tucker Carlson: Argued Trump is rejecting God’s law. Cited him not placing his hand on the Bible at inauguration. Called the Venezuela oil seizure “theft under the Christian legal code.” Read the Easter post “in horror,” warning that babies connected to incubators will die when power plants are destroyed. Speculated the girls’ school strike may have been intentional. Implied, without saying it outright, that Trump may be the anti-Christ. Said Trump’s “praise be to Allah” mocks all faith.
Ben Shapiro: Called Tucker’s position anti-American. Said suggesting the military intentionally targets schoolgirls means “you despise America.” Accused Tucker of hypocrisy for being “super pro-Russia” while Russia targets civilians. Said it’s “too early to judge” whether the bridge and power plant strikes are war crimes.
Candace Owens: Called Trump “a genocidal lunatic” and the administration “satanic.” Called for the 25th Amendment and military intervention. Reposted someone urging the military to “refuse to cooperate with orders like this.” Agreed with Piers Morgan that Trump’s post was “a brazen pre-admission of genocide.”
Laura Loomer: Attacked Candace for “dancing on her best friend’s grave” (re: Charlie Kirk). Accused Tucker of “trying to incite someone to physically harm President Trump.” Claimed Tucker is secretly a Muslim. Polled followers on whether to call him “Tucker Qatarlson” or “Tehran Tucker.”
Trump: Called Tucker “a low IQ person that has absolutely no idea what’s going on. He calls me all the time; I don’t respond to his calls. I like dealing with smart people, not fools.”
Megyn Kelly: Tried to hold the coalition together. Explained Trump’s messaging as “erratic” but tactical. BUT admitted: “I’ve kind of given up on 2026, to be perfectly honest with you, but 2028 could still be salvaged.”
The bottom line: These are the people who built MAGA. Tucker, Shapiro, Owens, Loomer, Kelly. They can’t agree on whether the president is a genius or a lunatic. The coalition that won 2024 is fracturing over a war that’s killed thousands, an economy squeezing Americans, and an Easter post that included “open the fuckin’ strait you crazy bastards” and “praise be to Allah.” Kelly has given up on the midterms. That should tell you everything about where the movement is right now.
